Bubble Bobble Plus! and Rainbow Islands: Towering Adventure! for WiiWare

Square Enix has announced that they will be releasing two updated Taito classics onto WiiWare.
Bubble Bobble Plus! will release on April 10, 2009 while Rainbow Islands: Towering Adventure! will be released sometime in May.

The original Bubble Bobble was released in 1986 for the arcades and become a hit all around the world. In Bubble Bobble Plus! Bub and Bob are reunited to explore all-new maps and defeat new bosses with the 200 rounds in Arrange and Super Arrange Modes. Also players will be able to download two Expert modes which provide 100 additional rounds.

Square Enix will also be updating their other arcade classic Rainbow Islands (released one year after Bubble Bobble in 1987).

Wii Motion Plus Release Dates Announced

Nintendo finally release dates for its much talked about Wii MotionPlus control extension, originally announced during last year’s E3, the Wii MotionPlus dongle attaches to the base of the Wii-mote and more accurately traces player motions and provides a massively improved on-screen interpretation.

It will be launched initially in Japan alongside Wii Sports Resort (the follow up to hit title Wii Sports) in June. Sports fans in Europe will have to wait a little with a July release scheduled.

EA Sports are set to release the likes of Grand Slam Tennis and Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10 during the summer months – both of which utilise the benefits of Wii MotionPlus.

Wii Fit News!

Just spotted this ‘news’ story…

“The British government has announced plans to provide children and teenagers living in the United Kingdom with a free customised version of the Nintendo Wii together with two games and the Wii Fit accessories.

Speaking to the BBC, James Purnell, the secretary for Pensions said that the move aims to promote exercise while keeping teenagers and children out of trouble.

The plan, which will see more than one million Nintendo Wii consoles distributed by the 1st of April 2010, will target households with more than one child and with one or more parents on benefits.”

The plan seems a little foolish to me! :)
